Obituary of Erich Kuhl
Erich Franz Kuhl, age 74, of Gloversville, died peacefully on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Fulton Center, Gloversville.
He was born August 27, 1947 in Elmshorn, Germany, the son of the late Otto and Charlotte Rhode Kuhl. He came to Schenectady, NY from Germany in 1956 and was naturalized on July 18, 1979. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1968 to 1971 including two years in the Vietnam War. While in the Marines he was trained as a welder. He was a proud Veteran who enjoyed fishing and his trips to Disney World.
Erich is survived by a brother, Edwin Otto Kuhl (Lori) of Duanesburg and a sister-in-law, Diane Kuhl of Broadalbin; a brother-in-law, Maurice Desbiens of Rotterdam; as well as several nieces and nephews. We are forever grateful to the caring community that supported him and became a second family, especially his dear friend, Heather.
In addition to his parents, Erich was predeceased by his wife, Sandra Ryan Kuhl; a brother, Dieter-Wolfgang Kuhl; and a sister, Vera Desbiens.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 11 am on Friday, January 7th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville. Facial masks are required.
Military Honors will be provided at 1:00 pm at Gerald BH Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville, where burial will take place.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Southern Adirondack Independent Living Center, 71 Glenwood Ave; Queensbury, NY 12804.
