Obituary of Dorothy A. Nelli

Mrs. Dorothy A. Nelli, age 93, of Gloversville, New York, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 at Nathan Littauer Hospital after a short illness.

She was born on December 2, 1928 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Frank and Chloe Cannizzo. She was employed for many years as a glove maker at many of the local glove shops in the area. Dorothy liked to cook, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 71 years, Peter; her two children, John (Mary) and Peter (Mickey); along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to both of her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by three sisters, Alma Christman, Carmella Armstrong, Edna Caruso, and a brother, Croce (Bud) Cannizzo.

In accordance with Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held at Prospect Hill cemetery in the spring, with date and time to be announced, followed by a family celebration of her life.
