Obituary of George A. Waples, Jr.
George A. Waples Jr; 55, of Schenectady unexpectedly passed away December 17, 2021. Born in Darby, Pennsylvania on October 16, 1966 he is the son of Alvin Trusty, and the late Rose Marie Mason.
Survived by his loving wife whom he married on June 12, 2019 Suzanne K. Wixom of Schenectady. Children; Marcus Allen Waples of Schenectady, Anaya Haysom of Houston TX; Step Sons Zachery Wixom of Schenectady, and Tristan Wixom of Schenectady. Sisters Tanja (Tammy) Waples of Pennsylvania and Yolanda Waples of Lockport, NY; and also, by his niece Elizabeth Waples. Survived also by many cousins, and extended family.
Besides his mother George is predeceased by his children George A Waples III, and Joshua Allen Waples.
In 2019, George became a New York State Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC -T) and he had also graduated Recovery Coach Academy to work as a Recovery Coach/Peer Advocate. George’s passion was to help those struggling with the disease of addiction, as he had fought a lifelong battle of his own. In that addiction battle at end of life, George had achieved 10 months in recovery and had found peace and happiness in his relationship with God, his wife, family, and friends. He was truly happy and excited about life. George had a strong faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior and his heart’s desire was to help the sick and suffering. George had a spiritual gift as an encourager, and he strove to be an example of hope. George never gave up, and sought to better himself and those around him. George continued to be community minded and a few days before his death had completed Emergency Preparedness Training hosted by Assemblyman A. Santabarbara.
George lived his life to the fullest and had a strong will to live, George was a survivor of Neck and Throat Cancer. George succumbed to a sudden heart attack, and passed with his loving wife at his side.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday January 2, 2022 at 11 am at the Chapel at TLC, 395 Floyd Ackert Road, West Park, NY 12493. Please feel free to wear Royal Blue & Gold in honor of George.
