Obituary of Ryan I. Pooler

Ryan Isaac Pooler, 42, of Tribes Hill, New York, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at his home. He was born in Amsterdam, New York on January 5, 1979 to Michele Pooler and Bert Pooler.

Ryan is survived by his loving parents, Michele Pooler and Bert (Angela) Pooler; his siblings, Eric (Sara) Pooler, Chad (Carrie) Pooler, and Samantha Pooler; step-siblings, Chris (Carrie) Schmidtmann and Cody (Tamara) Schmidtmann, as well as by his beloved canine companion, Stanley. Ryan was the dear grandson of Shirley Picinich, uncle to Brody and Vander Pooler, and is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Edward Picinich Jr., Roland and Mary Pooler, as well as by his step-father, Jeff Schmidtmann.

Ryan loved rock climbing, camping at Nine Corner, and snowboarding. He was once a snow boarding instructor at Mammoth Mountain and Stratton Mountain. He also loved art, and was a talented painter. One of Ryan's favorite things to do was making people laugh, he was always busy crafting a good story to share with family and friends.

Funeral services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family. Ryan was an avid animal lover, and in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Montgomery County SPCA, P.O. Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010, or to an animal rescue organization of your choosing.
