Obituary of Rebecca J. Voght

Rebecca J. Voght, age 81, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam.

She was born June 13, 1940 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Shaffer Phillips. She was a self-employed health care worker in private homes in the area for many years. She loved horses and her pet dog Harley. 

Becky is survived by her husband of 64 years, George H. Voght; five children, George R. Voght (Audre), Robert J. Voght (Gail), Michael P. Voght (Melanie), Kathy A. Voght-Austin (Jeff) and Thomas J. Voght (Marlyn); seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Frank A. VanSkiver, Alma Avery and Rella Ward.

Per Becky's request, there will be no calling hours. Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Fort Plain Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd. Gloversville, NY 12078.
