Obituary of George J. Paton
George J. Paton, 88, of Fultonville, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 10, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 17, 1932 in Amsterdam, New York to the late George S. Paton and Helen (Kulakowska) Paton.
George was employed in many different areas of police work, with his most recent as a security guard at St Mary’s Hospital. Following retirement, he worked part-time as a court attendant at Montgomery County Courthouse.
He is survived by his wife Judith Paton, son Christopher Paton, daughter Sarah (Tracy) Craig, grandchildren; Nathan (Kyla) Craig, Allison Craig (fiancé Shane Snell), Alyssa Craig (fiancé Mitchell Rogers), great grandchild Jaxon Craig; siblings John E. (Alice) Paton, and Edward R. Paton; along with many nieces and nephews.
George was a homebody and enjoyed spending his time with family. He spent the days watching boats go by on the Mohawk River, and many nights at Sarah’s home for dinner.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Community Hospice for the compassion they showed George in his final weeks.
