Obituary of Alexander H. Pfister
Alexander 'Al' Pfister was born in the Bronx on August 18, 1931, and died on December 5, 2021, at the age of 90, at the Fulton Rehab Center.
He was a sixth grade teacher at Northville Central School for many years, and was proud of his accomplishments as an educator and mentor, and had many grateful students.
He was predeceased by his sister Betty, and leaves behind his brother Bernard. His only son Alex lives in NW Washington, near his three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Al grew up in Brooklyn, NY, with his brother and sister, who all endured an abusive childhood. At 16, he left home to work on a farm, and joined the Army at 21. He did his best to overcome the obstacles of his childhood, but 90 years was not enough time. May his next journey be better.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville, NY.
