Obituary of Patricia Ann Fura
Patricia Ann Fura, 83, of Amsterdam NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 4th 2021. She was surrounded by her family at St Peter's Hospital, Albany NY, after a brief illness.
Patricia, a native Amsterdam resident, was born January 10th 1938 to the late Sophie Kroup Olbie & Joseph Olbie. Patricia spent her young life on John St., the East End of Amsterdam, and was a lifelong parishioner of St Casmir's Church. On June 2nd 1962 Patricia married William J Fura Jr. at St Casmir’s Church on East Main St.
She is pre-deceased by William J Fura Jr (Husband), Sophie Kroup Olbie (Mother), Barbara Jean DellaRocca (Sister), James Olbie (Brother), Bonnie Olbie (Sister-In-Law). As well as other extended family.
Patricia will be lovingly remembered by her son David Hawk-Fura (Brian), daughter Jean D'Ambrosia (Scott), grandsons Nicholas Barringer and Cody D'Ambrosia, and the light of her life, great-grandchild Scarlett Sanders. Patricia will also be missed by her brother-in-law, Steve DellaRocca, cousins Deborah Bedford (Bill) and Benjamin Kroup (Lucy), nieces Stefanie Nelli, Lisa Kaminski, Amy McLean (Stan), Jennifer Coton (Wade), Sherrill Blanchard, their families and many other family members and friends.
Patty enjoyed traveling with her family to Alaska, Maryland, Florida and other destinations up and down the east coast; word finds, board and card games with her great grandchild Scarlett and gathering with family for the holidays and birthdays. Her kind soul made her a mother to many and a friend to all.
Family will receive relatives and friends Saturday December 11th, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon followed by a Memorial Service and Celebration of LIfe with Father O. Robert DeMartinis presiding at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Montgomery County SPCA, P.O.
