Obituary of Richard DaCorsi

Richard Lee DaCorsi, 70, of Mayfield, New York, died from long-term illness December 1, 2021 peacefully at home in the care of his devoted family.

Rick, as he was known by, was born July 23, 1951 in Amsterdam, NY, son of Arthur and Edith A. (Hauser) DaCorsi.  He married Therese (Nellis) DaCorsi on January 24, 1970.  Together they ran a family homestead and raised four loving children off of the land.

Rick worked at GE as a machinist for some years, but most of his life, his passion and living were made off of the land- farming with his family, hunting and fishing.  No matter the occasion, he made everyone smile and laugh.  His favorite hobby was drinking everyone else’s coffee- he and his wife would make their Sunday rounds visiting all of their friends.  He loved taking trips to Salmon River and always had great luck bringing in the “big ones” (salmon).  Not many a man has more hunting tales than him either.  If he wasn’t hunting or fishing, he was tending to his animals and gardens, playing with his grandchildren or helping others, as he loved to do.  He was always making sure all of his friends, family and acquaintances were well cared for and everyone always knew they could call him when they needed a hand.  Rick lived life through laughter- always joking, dancing, singing and bringing humor & joy wherever he would go.  He will be sorely missed by many.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Therese DaCorsi; his four children, Serena (Keith) Allen, Vanessa (Ron) Ellis, Rebecca (Mark) DaCorsi-Keller and Jacob (Brittany) DaCorsi; siblings, Mary Graham-Hayes, Claudia Tate, Jane (Paul) Velicky, Pam (Stu) VanHusen, Faith Betler, Beth Tesi (Brian), Ellen (Terry) Welch, Brian DaCorsi and Shelley Sauve; several step-siblings; grandchildren: Aliyah Allen, Marcus Allen, Courtney Eyster, JT DaCorsi, Mackenzie Ellis, Colin DaCorsi, Ariana DaCorsi, Rowan Keller, Aurora Keller & Lily DaCorsi; five great-grandchildren: Corbin, Connor, A’riah, Cedric & Christopher, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved step-mother, Pearl DaCorsi and his siblings: Charles DaCorsi, Dennis DaCorsi and Lisa DaCorsi.
