Obituary of Ronald J. Warenda

Mr. Ronald J. Warenda, 80, of Lower Lepper Road, Fort Johnson, NY died suddenly on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at home.  Born in Troy, NY he was the son of the late Ronald Warenda and Alice Brassard Warenda.

 

Ron was a lifelong area resident.  He was a graduate of LaSalle Institute and later obtained his accounting degree.  He was employed with General Electric for over 30 years.  A dedicated single father, he raised his six children and worked hard all of his life. He enjoyed fishing and will be remembered for being a kind soul.

 

He is survived by his six children, Ronald (Dawn) Warenda, Laura (Gary) Krohn, Emily Warenda (John Vaugh), Michael (Marie) Warenda, Jeffrey Warenda, and Kimberly Sobkowich; his life partner, Mary Chaffin; one brother, Michael Warenda; eleven grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11a.m. at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 52 Cornell Street, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis as celebrant.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.  Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 4 until 7p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
