Obituary of AJ Hayes

Mr. Ashley James Hayes, age 80, of Gloversville, NY was called home to his loved ones on  November 24, 2021 at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville.

He was born October 6, 1941 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the son of the late, Robert and Aletha (Baker) Hayes.   He and his wife Rosena owned and operated many businesses including Ashley Homes, in Malta, NY. 

On December 13, 1980, Ashley married the love of his life, Rosena (Ragusa) Hayes and they enjoyed 41 inseparable years together.   

Ashley looked forward to going to Naifs everyday to play his number.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.  He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren who brought him much joy.

Ashley is survived by his loving wife,  Rosena J. ( Ragusa) Hayes; his daughter, Deborah Russell; his son, Michael Doesburg (Doreen); his grandchildren, Nicole, Ashely, Casey and Kyle; his great granddaughter, Mackenzie; his sister, Roberta McGee; his step mother, Marilyn Hayes; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ashley was predeceased by his brother and sister.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville, NY 12078.  Per Ashley's request there will be no services.
