Obituary of Cathy D. Loveday

Cathy D. Loveday, age 63, of Hope, New York, died on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Ellis Hospital following an illness.

She was born on September 28, 1958 in La Jolla, California, the daughter of William and Doris (Goodbread) Loveday. She graduated from Northville Central School, and then enlisted in the US Navy which she served the United States with from from 1977 to 1979. Upon return to civilian life, Cathy was employed as a Medical Administrator by the Hale Creek Correctional Facility of Hale Creek, NY, a position she held for 17 years.

Outside of work, she enjoyed going to the casino, antiquing, and travelling, but was always happy to return home. Cathy loved her home in the woods. Whether it was tending to her flower garden, enjoying her time with her beloved Billy, with whom she was partners in love and life for over 20 years, or simply enjoying the view from her deck, her home was her refuge.

Cathy is survived by her significant other: William "Billy" Witts; her two daughters: Stephanie Burchard and Tracie (Clint) Brown; her grandchildren; Sophia, Logan, Maddox, and Emma; and her siblings: Terry (Stephen) Loveday, and William George (Maria) Loveday, III.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Cathy's family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00PM to 7:00PM, Monday, November 29, 2021 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Masks will be required while at the funeral home.

A graveside committal service will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, 545 N. Perry St., Johnstown, NY 12095, on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 10:00AM.
