Obituary of Angel Sax
Mrs. Angel Nancy Sax, a devout Catholic, 83 years of age of Saratoga Springs, New York, passed away on October 26, 2021 at Saratoga Hospital, Saratoga Springs.
Angel was born on October 31, 1937 in Amsterdam, New York, the daughter of Pasquale "Pat" and Immaculetta "Jennie" (Sardelli) Lauritano. She graduated from Gloversville High School and later found her passion as an actress in New York City. As an older adult she returned to school, earning an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from QVCC in Danielson, Connecticut, and graduated as the class Valedictorian.
During her career as an actress, she was a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Angel was very fortunate to have been mentored by former actors William Hickey and Lee Strasberg. In addition to her passion for film and theater, she also loved to express her creativity in a variety of other ways. She appreciated music and artwork and enjoyed painting and sculpting. Angel was also an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and taking after her robust tomato plants. She also loved cooking and was known to be a gifted chef. She collected cookbooks, and used them as inspirations in the kitchen. She shared this talent with her community and volunteered as a chef at various soup kitchens. Angel was an exemplary role model of society; always giving to others, not only in soup kitchens but at hospices as well. She was grateful to have served with Mother Teresa in the first AIDS Hospice (Missionaries of Charities). Even in her geriatric years, she volunteered at a store offering food and drinks to the elderly. Her kindness and care for others was unlimited and she will always be remembered for her unbounded capacity to offer to others in need.
Angel is survived by her children, Lori (Robert Hobbs) Sax , Eric (Julia Basile) Sax, Britt (Jevron Crouch) Sax, and Alessandra (James Lane) Sax, and her grand-children; Eric, Alessandra, Olivia (Dimitri), Chloe, Leah, Jamie and great-grandson Sotiris. Elizabeth Hobbs Baron was also like a grand-daughter to her. She also is survived by her half-sister Vincettta Lauritano Sicilia.
She was predeceased by her parents, her son Craig and her sisters Nancy, Patricia and Dolores.
