Obituary of Mary Natole

Mrs. Mary Natole, 95, of Amsterdam, NY died peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 surrounded by her family.  Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 19, 1926 she was the last living child of the late Frank and Angelina Charimella Turo.

A lifelong area resident, Mary attended the former Theodore Roosevelt Junior High School.  She was employed as a seamstress and floor lady for Mohawk Dress Company and Amsterdam Apparel for many years until her retirement in 1989.

On February 8, 1948 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Albert Natole.  That union was blessed with 46 wonderful years until his passing on October 14, 1994.  She was also predeceased by all her siblings, Elizabeth, Nancy, Carmella, Edith, Theresa, Susan, Angelo, Vincent “Jimmy”, Anthony and Dominick; and her great grandson, Zachary Bartman.

Mary was a hard worker all of her life, and enjoyed the art of sewing and crocheting.  She was a devout Catholic woman, who made several vestments and altar linens for St. Mary’s Church.  She also served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital, Bishop Scully High School and for Hospice.  Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her four children; Thomas Natole and his wife Kathee, Albert “Butch” Natole and his wife Heidi, Diane Hollingworth and her husband David, and Patricia Wills and her husband Bill; seven grandchildren, Shawn (Cristina) Natole, Robert (Lindsay) Natole, Jimmy Natole, Allison (Donnie) O’Brien, Debra (Josh) Bartman, Kristen (Kai) Jordeth and Danielle Wills; seven great grandchildren, A.J., C.J., Skylar, Jackson, Izabella, Lucas and Kenna ; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 11a.m. at Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam with Rev. Richard Vosko as celebrant.  Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.  Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 2 until 5p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Masks are required.
