Obituary of Bernard Manzer, Sr.
Mr. Bernard Jay Manzer, Sr., age 84, of Gloversville, New York, died Monday, October 4, 2021 at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville.
He was born on March 13, 1937 in Gloversville, the son of Henry Manzer and Carrie Wilson. After high school, he did a tour of duty with the US military, and was later employed as a tool and die machinist by Pratt-Whitney Aircraft of Hartford, Connecticut.
Bernard held a lifetime membership with the NRA, as well as holding a membership with the local Laborerer's Union, for which he was a past chapter president. When he wasn't at work, Bernard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
Bernard is survived by his children, Catherine (Steven) Kessler, and Bernard Jay Manzer Jr.; his step-children, Mary (Steve) Peterson, Christie (Greg) Stein, George Edman; his grandchildren, Christie Cook , Alex Kessler , Anthony Michl , Joseph Kessler , Kristina Maraggia , Rebecca Michl , Denelle Manzer; his great-grandchildren, Callie Cook, Cameron Cook, and Oaklynn Felts; as well as his best friend, Paula Manzer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Services for Bernard will be private, at the convenience of his family.
