Obituary of Rosemary A. Lais
Mrs. Rosemary A. Lais, 79, a life-long resident of Amsterdam, New York, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2021 at River Ridge Living Center. Born on February 9, 1942 to Robert and Margaret (Klock) Farrell, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Amsterdam High School.
On May 11, 1968 she was united in marriage to Thomas J. Lais, also of Amsterdam. The couple had shared the past 53 years together in their home on the South Side, where they raised their four sons. Rosemary had been a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church from childhood.
Rosemary leaves behind her loving husband Thomas J. Lais, her sons Patrick Lais and Jay Lais, her sister Roberta Gentile, her six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents, Robert and Margaret, she is preceded in passing by her sons Joseph Lais and Peter Lais, and by her brothers, Teddy Farrell and Ronnie Farrell.
Rosemary’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at River Ridge Living Center for the care and compassion they extended to her, and for treating Rosemary as if she were their own family.
