Obituary of Ramona M. Capasso
Ramona M. Capasso, age 92, of Gloversville, passed away Saturday morning, October 2, 2021 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville.
She was born January 29, 1929 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Vollero Ralston. She was a 1947 graduate of Gloversville High School and was later employed by Gates Mills of Johnstown for many years. She also worked at various stores in the area over the years.
Mona was an active member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and its Catholic Daughters and Social Spirits. She also served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Greeter and on the Parish Council. She was also a member of the Nathan Littauer Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered for the Fulton County Senior Meals on Wheels Program.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Ann Klymkow of Buffalo and Toni M. VanNostrand of Moravia; a brother, Richard Ralston of Gloversville; two sisters, Georgianna Chatterton of Johnstown and Philomena Been of Gloversville; two grandsons, Eric Klymkow and Brian VanNostrand; four great-grandchildren, Bradley Klymkow, Austin Klymkow, Bailey Klymkow and Meredith Klymkow; several nieces and nephews and five step-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mona was predeceased by her son, Timothy A. DeTraglia in 2021 and both of her husbands, Louis DeTraglia in 1970 and John Capasso in 1992.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 pm Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, where a Prayer Service will be held 9:45 am on Friday, Oct. 8, followed at 10:30 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St; Gloversville, with the Rev. Matthew Wetsel officiating. Facial masks will be required at both locations.
Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
