Obituary of Dorothy Lilley
Mrs. Dorothy Lilley, 92, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at her family residence in Sprakers, NY with her loving family by her side.
She was born on August 23, 1929 in Amsterdam, NY.
Dorothy was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Her survivors include her sons; Leonard L. Lilley Jr, Lorenzo L. Lilley, Lyndon L. Lilley, Loren L. Lilley, Leslie L. Lilley, and Levi L. Lilley, daughters Lynda L. Lilley and Lynette L. Perry. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren; Leonard L. Lilley III, Alex J. Lilley, Savannah R. Lilley, Moira C. Rowe-Lilley, Levi S. Lilley, Logan P. Lilley, Nicholas N. Lilley, Todd J. Perry Jr, and Ethan L. Perry as well as her siblings Sheila Smith and Margaret Eastman. Dorothy was also a devoted mother to her five Chihuahuas; Nit-nit, Kissy, Snowball, Lassie, and Angel.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband Leonard Lilley Sr., son Larry Leon Lilley, and sister Clara Kilpatrick.
Dorothy was a farmer all her life. She loved going to tractor shows in Sharon Springs with her family, and enjoyed canning, hanging out with her Chihuahuas, listening to Johnny Cash, watching John Wayne movies, and NASCAR; specifically Jeff Gordon. She also never missed an episode of Days of Our Lives or a Yankees game. She was a Volunteer Firefighter and a member of the Charleston Four Corners Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary as well as a volunteer at Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter. More than anything Dorothy loved being with her family and giving back to her loved ones and community.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Lenz and Betz Funeral Home 69 Otsego St, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Funeral services will take place at 1:00PM with Pastor Winston Hallett officiating. Interment will take place at Christian Church Cemetery in Charleston Four Corners, Charleston immediately following the service.
Donations in Dorothy's name may be made to the Charleston Four Corners Volunteer Fire Department or the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter.
