Are used to like the number 16 because it was your birthday number. Now I don’t care for it because it reminds me of the day you died, the day Roger died and the day that daddy died. I miss you sister, I miss your laugh and all the goofy things you used to do. I miss listening to you sing all the words to every single song that’s ever been written, and dancing up a storm. When I think of you, I think of all the crazy leggings that you had, and all the fun we had. Your family misses you so much. I hope that you have reunited with all our family and friends. I hope that mom and you are enjoying Bingo in heaven. I hope that you went camping with Roger like you said. Just know that I am thinking about you and wishing you were still here. I love you and was glad to have you for my big sister.

Beautiful daughter-in-law. I can’t even begin to know your loss, your heartache, the terrifying void suddenly before you. And, as you know, I didn’t ever have the privilege of getting to know your mama. Yet, somehow, I do feel I know some incredibly significant things about her. I know she had to have been amazingly tender-hearted & loving. I know she must have been endlessly intrigued & engaged with the world & people around her. I know she was thoughtful & considerate & loyal & fun-loving & always up to a challenge. And I know she was an indefatigable source of encouragement & support & affirmation & comfort to her children. I know these things about your mama — without doubt or qualification — because I see all these qualities reflected in you, her beloved daughter. And I will be forever grateful to, & in awe of the amazing person I know her to have been & the priceless, precious legacy with which she has gifted us all — through you.
