Obituary of Courtney M. Schoner

Courtney “Court” Michelle Schoner, age 33, of Mayfield, New York, died following a long illness on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born on June 22, 1988 in Amsterdam, New York, the daughter of Joseph “Daddio” and Michelle (LeFever) Schoner. She attended Mayfield High School, and following graduation she earned her BA in Health from the University at Berkley. She then went on to earn a Master’s with Honors in Healthcare Administration from Strayer University. After graduation, Court found employment with Manhattan Orthopedics, working for Dr. Herschman, and recently had accepted a position as the Healthcare admin for the New York Jets Football team.

When Courtney wasn’t hard at work, she loved watching football. She also had a passion for bird watching, specifically humming birds. She made her life all about helping others. She loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews, doted on her pets, and was dedicated to her significant other, Daniel. Court always seemed to grab life and run with it. She always carried a beautiful smile.

Courtney is survived by her parents, Joseph E. and Michelle M. Schoner Jr.; her brother, Joseph E. Schoner III; her nephew, Noah Schoner; her niece, Ariana Schoner, her uncle, Mark (Fran) LeFever; her significant other, Daniel Guest; her godparents, George and Di, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Richard (Marie) LeFever, and Doris Rochler.

Courtney’s family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00PM to 2:00PM on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville for a period of visitation. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Rosalyn Guest officiating.  Masks are required.

Interment will take place privately, at the convenience of Courtney’s family.
