Obituary of Suzanne Carpenter

     Mrs. Suzanne Carpenter, 90, of Fonda, passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2021 at her

home. She was born on the family farm in Fonda, NY on December 23, 1930 a daughter of the late

Thomas and Anna Yurik Skandera.   

    Suzanne was a 1948 graduate of Canajoharie High School . She worked as a key punch operator at

Beech-Nut Foods in Canajoharie, NY. She also was employed at the Auriesville Shrine.

Suzanne was a member of the Johnstown Moose Chapter #685 and held the Star Recorder Degree

of the Moose. She was also a past member of the Town of Mohawk Auxiliary and enjoyed cooking and

gardening.  

    Suzanne was united in marriage to Harold Carpenter on June 4, 1949. He passed away on

September 4, 2017 after 68 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her brother Thomas

Skandera. Survivors include her son Clayton Allen (Kathleen) Carpenter of Fonda, NY and David Harold

(Beth) Carpenter of Fonda, NY. One daughter, Sharon Ann Darrach of Ft. Plain, NY. One sister, Anne

Carpenter of Gansevoort, NY. Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and

cousins also survive.  

    The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to her wonderful neighbors, John &

Michelle Wiltey and Bill & Sherrie Gray for all their help and being the best neighbors she could possibly

have.  

   Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Jackson and Betz Funeral Home,

15 Main St., Fultonville, NY. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda, NY. The family will receive

relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 15, 2021  from 4-7 pm at  the funeral home. Please leave
