Obituary of Noemi Santiago
Mrs. Noemi Santiago, 83, of Scotia, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away Friday September 3, 2021 at Albany Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Yauco, Puerto Rico on December 2, 1937 a daughter of the late Francisco Santiago Lopez and Amelia Feliciano Pietri. Noemi was employed for a time in New York City as a Seamstress and Chef. Cooking was her passion along with taking care of her children, grandchildren and family. She enjoyed traveling and sightseeing and was blessed to have visited many places with her family. She was of the Roman Catholic Faith.
She is survived by her loving children, Pablo F. (Nellie) Torres of Amsterdam, Alex (Annette Trapini) Torres of Scotia, NY and Naomi (Charles) Del Toro of Amsterdam. Her brothers and sisters, Dignora Santiago-Asencio, Francisco Santiago Feliciano, Eva A. Santiago- Garcia, Sara Santiago-Casanova. Her cherished grandchildren, Pablo F. (Katrina) Torres Jr., Debra J. Del Toro, Charles J. (Christie) Torres, Diego A. Torres Trapini, Great-grandchildren, Breanah Torres, Xavier Torres, Isadore Torres, Anthony C. Malone and Harper J. Malone. She was recently pre-deceased by her great-granddaughter, Ottilia P. Torres and a sister Norma Santiago –Jackson and also Ada L. Santiago Feliciano, Zonnia Santiago-Garcia, and Herman E. Santiago Feliciano. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday September 13, 2021 at 1:00PM at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Father O. Robert DeMartinis & Pastor Francisco Santiago presiding. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 11:00AM to 1:00PM prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
