Obituary of Albert Frank Hernigle
Mr. Albert Frank Hernigle, 87, of Sprakers, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday August 23, 2021 at his home.
Born in Charleston, NY on November 1, 1933 a son of the late John James and Harriet Pauline Putnam Hernigle. He was raised in Canajoharie and was a1951 graduate of Canajoharie High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.
Albert worked construction and on his family farm most of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He married his loving wife Eleanor J. Klock Hernigle on October 20, 1956. They were married almost 63 years before she passed away on April 29, 2019.
Albert is survived by his sons, William (JoAnne) Hernigle of Palatine Bridge, NY, Randy D. (Laura Lee) Hernigle of Sprakers, NY. One brother, James Hernigle of Sprakers, NY. Sisters-in-law, Barbara VanSchaick , Sally Emery, Judy Wilson and Nellie Hernigle. Brother and sister-in-law, Peter (Karen) Klock of St. Johnsville,NY. Cherished grandchildren, Stefanie (Eric) Ackerknecht, Travis Hernigle, Ryan Hernigle, Kristin Cornell and Matthew Hernigle. Great-grandchildren, Tanner and Grayson Ackerknecht and Dalton Cornell. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by his brother John Hernigle Jr.
Albert was also a member of the Fort Plain VFW for many years.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday August 30, 2021 at 1:00PM at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, NY with Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis presiding. Interment will follow in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville with military honors. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday prior to the funeral service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
