My condolences to the family. My daughter, Diane Shea, was part of your staff and she always spoke with fondness about Paul and his wife. When Diane had health problems, you were instrumental in her fight for her life. I thank you for all you did for her and I'm sure she was waiting at heaven's door to greet Paul.

My wife Amy and I had the privilege of meeting Paul, thanks to our friendship with his daughter Heather. The experience was memorable as I found him to be a very gracious host and I was delighted by our mutual interest in snow skiing. In the days after our visit, I was to be pleasantly surprised by a very thoughtful gift from Paul in the form of a subscription to Ski History Magazine. He was a special person and will be missed.

Suzanne, Heather, Grant and families,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked at Mortans in the Mall in the 1980's as a weekend cashier. Paul was a wonderful employer and I learned a lot from him and the other employees, many who have become lifelong friends. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. Sincerely, Sue Tolson

My mother, Marjorie Hugg, received outstanding care at River Ridge Rehab some years ago. I would like to take this opportunity to praise all the Guttenberg family did to provide medical support, to meet the daily needs of the residents, provide a stimulating environment, and provide a very warm and supportive environment. I remember Paul taking tours to personally greet the residents. Of course, the annual carnival was unforgettable.
Paul led a long and productive life. I wish that all the family can celebrate that in time.

I worked at Mortan’s in the early to mid 1970’s, before the mall. Paul was always a dapper dressed man and knew his business. He was always nice to me and although it has been many years I can see that was one of the “old school” leaders that made Amsterdam and the local community. RIP and my condolences to the family.

My condolences to the family of Paul. Mortan's was the store of choice and my Mom would bring me there for all my attire. I still remember the Florsheim shoes my Mom insisted I have before I left for college. And my most prized possession was a picture of a Playmate Bunny that Paul had brought to the store to generate some excitement. He knew how to market.
RIP sir.

Dear Susanne, Heather, Grant and family,
I am so sorry to read about Paul's passing. My prayers are with you. What a wonderfully written tribute to Paul his obituary is! Whoever wrote it is very gifted... and accurate. I met each of you: Susanne, Heather and Grant at River Ridge Living Center. It was my pleasure to know and work with you and Paul and all those who worked with you to transform the former Montgomery Meadows into the lovely home into which you transformed it. I was the Food Service Director at St. Mary's Healthcare and worked with Mary Ann Leone and others in your Dietary Department. It was and honor to work with each of you, and of course Paul. I met with and talked with Paul many times including during inspections by the NYS Department of Health. Paul was an elegant genteman always. I am so sorry for your loss. May your memories and your faith give you comfort.
Most Sincerely,
Mark Romani

Always think about my dad working at the house and at the store in the mall. Being able to ride in the elevator at the house is still something I tell people about. Just so many memories. He will be missed.
