Obituary of Marylouise Dumar
Marylouise Emden Dumar, “Sis”, passed away on Saturday August 7, 2021 at the Palatine Nursing home in Palatine Bridge, NY. She had been a resident of Arkell Hall in Canajoharie, NY.
Sis attended Fultonville Free School graduating in 1943, then attended the former Amsterdam School of Commerce graduating with a Business Degree in 1945. She retired from Fonda-Fultonville Central School after 20 years of service as Secretary to the School Business Administrator. She also worked at the Town of Mohawk as the Town Bookkeeper for 10 years. She also was a reporter for the radio station WFNY, reporting local news from the Mohawk Valley. She wrote articles for the Fonda Democrat, and the Leader Herald.
Marylouise Emden married Morace Roy Dumar in September of 1945. He passed away on Feb. 24, 1984.
Survived by children, Roy M. Dumar, (Amber) of Carolina Shores, NC, Christine M. Hand (Wayne) of Hammondsport, NY, Karen A. Ford(Joseph) and Raymond G. Dumar (Lynn) of Fonda, NY.
Grandchildren, James G. Dumar of SC, John D. Dumar (Kathleen) NC, Chad D. Dumar (Ellen) Albany, NY, Michael Hand (Noriko) Albuquerque, NM, Kyle Hand (Julie) VT. Kelly L. Ford Wilder, Fonda, NY, Kristy M. Subik (Steven) Fonda, NY, Raelyn Dumar, Fultonville,NY and Jared Dumar, Tribes Hill, NY. Great- grandchildren, Joseph and Jillian Wilder, Jase and Kamden Subik, Christian and Ethan Dumar, Alexis, Briella and Mason Neri and Grace Hand.
Sis was a life member of St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, Fonda, NY as a member of the Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters, Woman of the Moose, Johnstown, CSEA of Fulton and Montgomery County and Hill Billy Card Club for over 56 years. Sis was also a member of the Home Bureau for a number of years. She enjoyed many sports starting with her days as a cheerleader in high school on to bowling, cross country skiing, boating and snow machining.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday August 12, 2021 at 11:00AM at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, Broadway, Fonda, NY with Father Christopher Welch as celebrant. Interment will be private in Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats, Fonda, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM at St. Cecilia’s Church prior to the mass. The family asks all attending to please wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines.
