Obituary of Virginia Elon Coger

  Virginia Elon Beekman Coger, affectionately know as "Ginger" was  born to Lorenzo Beekman and the late Mary "Jackie" Presley on July 10, 1960 in Gloversville,  New York. She departed this earthly life on Friday, July 23, 2021.

    She received Christ at an early age and was formally educated in the Gloversville, NY school district.  She spent over 35 years utilizing her culinary skills as a federal employee and a dedicated member of Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) serving members of the United States Armed Forces honorably. Her honorable service was noted by her numerous awards and certificates.  Virginia was loved by her Centennial family and all those that she served during her tenure as a federal employee.

    Virginia was preceded in death by her mother, with whom she shared a love for shopping which she inherited from both her mother and her beloved Aunt Maude.  Another trait she got from her mother was her love for pictures.

    Virginia leaves to cherish her memories; her loving husband of 38 years, Daryel Coger; 2 beautiful daughters, Marquita Jonifia Prince of Orlando, Florida, and Demika Elon Coger (Cedric) of Lake Mary, Florida; a host of relatives and friends.     

     Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Foothills United Methodist Church, 17 Freemont St., Gloversville, NY 12078 with Rev. Melvin Brown officiating.   Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, NY.   Local arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger and Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
