Obituary of Doris Rose
Mrs. Doris Rose peacefully passed away on Friday, June 11th at the age of 97 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 15, 1923 to the late Mr. Fred Post and Mrs. Blanche Post of Amsterdam, NY.
She attended and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in Schenectady, NY. Doris was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Harry Rose on September 20, 1945. They remained lovingly married until his passing in 1989. Doris and Harry had two children Sherry (Robert) Quivey and Craig (Nancy) Rose. Doris spent her time between Sacandaga Lake in NY and Avon Park, FL and most recently, between North and South Carolina to enjoy spending more time with her family.
Doris was a kind, caring and selfless woman who was well-known for her amazing 4th of July parties at Sacandaga Lake with her extended family. She loved to crochet blankets which she donated to hospitals for sick children and she was often found in the kitchen making her famous peanut butter fudge or yeast rolls. Doris loved playing gin rummy and pinochle, crossword puzzles, gardening, sewing, romance novels, puzzles and enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Yankees games, soap operas and reality shows. Doris will always be cherished for all the wonderful memories and traditions she created with her family over the years.
Doris is survived by her sisters; Janet (Elwyn) Becker, Beryl Millspaugh and brother Glenn (Debbie)Post, her children Sherry (Robert) Quivey of Simpsonville, SC and Craig (Nancy) Rose of Apex, NC, grandchildren Leah (Daniel) Zorrilla of St. Louis, Missouri, Jason (Kate) Rose of Apex, NC, Allison (Justin) Stahl of Apex, NC and Jennifer (Ross) Turner of Tampa, FL, and her beloved great-grandchildren; Julia, Zachary, Alexa, Reid, Natalie, Ella and Sofia.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 2:30PM at Jackson & Betz Funeral Home 15 Main St, Fultonville, NY 12072. Calling Hours will take place from 1:30PM to 2:30PM at Jackson & Betz prior to the service. Interment will take place at Maple Avenue Cemetery immediately following the service.
