Obituary of David Allen Beatty

    David Allen Beatty, 79, of Broadalbin, NY, passed away Saturday morning July 3, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam with his children at his side. 

    Born in Amsterdam, NY on February 11, 1942 a son of the late Joseph A. and Jean E. (Sheldon) Beatty.  He was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Broadalbin High School class of 1959.

     Dave was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1959 to 1963.  He was employed as a Steel Foreman for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, NY for many years but he retired from Saratoga County.  He was a devoted and loving dog owner to Buddy, Nikki and Luke.

     Dave is survived by his children, Jim (Kathy) Beatty of Manassas, VA, Scott (Cindy) Beatty of Ballston Lake, NY, Pam (Paul Gerspach) Fitzgerald of Lewiston, NY and Rebecca (Scott Livingston) Beatty of Mendon, NY; a sister, Diane Ferguson of Broadalbin, NY, and brother Gary Beatty of Winter Haven, FL; five grandchildren, Brandon Beatty, Jillian Beatty, Kelsey Jones, Tyler Jones and Dillon Fitzgerald as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

   Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 7, 2021 at 2:00PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with Rev. Cynthia Leonard presiding.  Interment will follow with military honors in Hagaman Mills Cemetery, Hagaman, NY.   The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice or Saratoga County Animal Shelter.  Please leave condolences online at www.brbsfuneral.com
