Obituary of Richard E. Doin, Sr.

Mr. Richard E. Doin Sr., 68, of Amsterdam, NY died peacefully on Friday, June 25, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family, following a long illness.  Born in Schenectady, NY on December 31, 1952 he was the son of the late Ernest and Helen Monarch Doin.

A lifelong area resident, Richard grew up in Schenectady and graduated from High School.  He was employed as a truck driver for all of his life and enjoyed his Harley and animals.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Dahm Doin of 42 years; his children, Nicole Cadwell and Sean Thomas and Rich Doin Jr. and Jackie Hernigle; six grandchildren, Zachary Cadwell and Brianna McCalahan, Blaze Cadwell, Chad Thomas, Brody Thomas, Kade Thomas and Baylee Thomas; two siblings, William Doin and Amy Comproski and her husband John; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 2p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY.  Relatives and friends are invited and may call prior to the service beginning at 1p.m. at the funeral home.
