Obituary of Ethel L. Flint
Ethel L. Flint, 95, of Fonda, New York passed away Friday, June 18, 2021 at Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility in Amsterdam. She was born on October 25, 1925 in Salt Springville, New York to Mr. Arthur William Harvey and Mrs. Bertha Anna Ripple Harvey.
Ethel attended and graduated from Springfield Central High School and was united in holy matrimony to Mr. G. William Flint in 1966. Together they relocated to Fonda in 1967 to raise their family. They remained lovingly married until his passing in 2006. She was a devoted member of the Fonda Fultonville United Methodist Church in Fultonville.
Ethel loved gardening and flowers. She was an avid card player and especially loved playing pinochle and bridge. She enjoyed staying active with crossword puzzles, bowling, and was an avid NY Yankees fan. More than anything Ethel enjoyed spending time with her friends and beloved family.
Ethel was predeceased by her husband G. William Flint, as well as her parents Arthur and Bertha, sisters Ruth Harvey and Grace Rogers, as well as her brother-in-law Harold Rogers, her brother Leland Harvey and sister-in-law Dorothy Harvey, and her grandson Brian David Galusha who passed away in 2004.
She leaves behind her son Robert D. (Helen) Galusha of Fonda, NY, and sister Phyllis (C. David) Smith of Springfield Center NY. She is also survived by her grandson Robert W. Galusha and his companion Ann Farrell of Scotia, great grandson Justin Galusha of Glens Falls, NY and Kimberly Galusha of Guilderland, NY as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ethel's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility for all the wonderful care they provided to Ethel during her stay.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 11:30AM at Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda, NY.
