Obituary of Salvatore A. Cozzolino
Salvatore A. Cozzolino, age 85, formerly of Gloversville, died Monday, May 10, 2021 at AdventHealth, Tampa, Florida.
He was born October 15, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Andrew and Grace Sardelli Cozzolino. He served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1958 and was later employed by Montgomery Ward and Sears Roebuck and Company of Gloversville, retiring as manager in 1997. Sal and his wife, the former Katherine D'Errico, moved to San Antonio, Florida from Gloversville six years ago.
He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit of Gloversville, NY and St. Anthony of Padua of San Antonio, Florida. An avid a golfer, he also enjoyed dancing, New York Yankee baseball and spending time with his family.
Sal is survived by his wife of 63 years, Katherine Cozzolino of San Antonio, Florida; three children, Lisa Dawson of Dade City , Florida, Gina and husband John Coupe of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Dr. Joseph and wife Kim Cozzolino of Wesley Chapel, Florida; ten grandchildren, Jenna Dawson, Jade and husband Chris Dious, Amanda Coupe, Monica Coupe, Joseph Cozzolino Jr; Amelia Cozzolino, Anthony Cozzolino, Cade Darbyshire, Cole Darbyshire and Chloe Darbyshire; a great-granddaughter, Ellie Grace Dious; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Dominic Cozzolino and a sister, Rose Cozzolino.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00am to 12:00noon on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Facial covering and social distancing will be required.
A Private Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Gloversville.
Private interment with Military Honors will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Friday’s Table, c/o the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St; Gloversville, NY 12078.
There will be a “Celebration of Life” held at the Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club – Community Center in San Antonio, Florida on May 30, 2021 from 2 to 4pm.
