Obituary of Rita C. Landreville

    Rita C. Landreville, 75,  of Ft. Johnson, NY passed away Wedensday May 5, 2021 at Albany Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness. 

   Born in Schenectady, NY on October 3, 1945 a daughter of the late Olivier and Irma Rochon Landreville.  She was a graduate of Linton High School in Schenectady.

   Rita was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968 as a French language interpreter.

  Following her military service she was employed as a Heath Care Worker at O.D. Heck Developmental Center in Schenectady, NY.   

  Rita was proud of her Native American Heritage and was part of the Cree-Chippewa Nation.  She first married Dorothy “Dot” Jobin and were together 31 years before she passed away on December 18, 2011. 

     She then married her partner Constance A.  Lennon on May 30, 2014.  In addition to her loving partner Connie, she is survived by her dear sister, Bella Marie Stuart, her beloved nephews, Philippi (Nancy) Stuart, Kevin (Marcia) Stuart and Lance Stuart.  Nieces, nephews , cousins and friends also survive.

    The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday May 12, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam.  A Native American Ritual will be held on Wednesday evening to close the calling period.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY.
