Obituary of Rose Marie Domblewski

Mrs. Rose Marie Domblewski, 98, of Cranesville, NY passed away on Mother’s Day, May 9, 2021 at Capstone Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ on March 28, 1923, a daughter of August and Julia (Toth) Wittek, and was a lifelong resident of the Amsterdam area. Mrs. Domblewski was employed as a drafting technician by the General Electric Knolls Atomic Lab in Niskayuna, until retiring together with her husband, Theodore, in 1983. She was a communicant of the former St. Casimir’s Roman Catholic Church, a member of the Cranesville Country Cousins Seniors, active with the Big Brothers-Big Sisters organization for 10 years and enjoyed painting, reading, crocheting, sewing and especially her pet dachshunds. Although Rose Marie never had children of her own, she deeply loved all children. Mrs. Domblewski is survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia Wittek of Union, NJ, a “niece & nephew”, Shannon and Matthew Maher of NJ and a step-daughter, Roberta K. Domblewski, of Broadalbin. She is also survived by her neighbors and close friends, Kathy & Brandon (Emily) Ratajczak as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Domblewski was predeceased by her husband, Ted, in 2007, her brother, August Wittek and sister, Eleanor Wittek. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday May 14, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday May 15, 2021at 9 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 50 – 52 Cornell Street, Amsterdam with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis as celebrant. Burial will follow in the family plot next to her late husband Theodore at St. Casimir’s Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required at all services. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cranesville Volunteer Fire Department, 167 Riverview Dr., Amsterdam, NY 12010 or the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
