As a longtime friend and co-worker of Nell, I would like offer my deep condolences and to share how much she impacted my life. Working with Nell at Regal Rugs for many years and subsequently visiting with her on biannual market visits in NYC, she always offered her best encouragement and advice to advance my life and career. She was a blessing and will be greatly missed. I'll miss visiting her adorable apt in NYC where we met for dinners whenever I was in town. Thanks for sharing her with us all. Her talents and generosity will be greatly missed. Donna Sandy

Dear Family and Friends of Nell, I was sad to hear of Nell's passing. She was so kind and sharing. I contacted her by phone initially about 9 years ago when I was researching the history of Nordic rya rug making. She was always more than generous in the time she shared with me. Our phone calls often lasted more than an hour! She invited me to her home to see her designs and share tea together in October 2016. We had a few more phone calls after that. But when I tried to contact her for a final detail check before my book was printed, I got a message that her phone was no longer in service. She will be remembered as a fascinating person of the rya world in my book. She must have many friends around the world who will carry on her love of the fiber arts. She was so willing to share all her knowledge and her kind personality. I miss her. Melinda Byrd
