Obituary of JoAnn DeMagistris

Mrs. JoAnn DeMagistris, age 76, of Gloversville, passed away May 2, 2021 at her home in Gloversville with her loving family by her side.

She was born January 9, 1945 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Harry and Rhoda Whitman Hing. JoAnn along with her late husband Nicholas DeMagistris, Jr. were the proud owners of the Miss Johnstown Diner in Johnstown until his sudden passing in 1992.

JoAnn enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially her newest great-granddaughter Sophia, who was the apple of her eye. Although she only had four children, she was a mother figure to those who knew her.

JoAnn is survived by her four children, Tammy Goodell (Todd), Kimberly Suchy (Steven), Nicholas “Jack” DeMagistris III (Rene Biccum) and Antoinette Fiordimondo (John); her eight grandchildren, Nicholas (Miranda), Brittanie and Kevin Carelli (Emily), Tristan (Nicole) and Brendan Suchy (Miranda) and Elaina, Gianna and Matthew Fiordimondo; great-grandchildren, Bella, Anthony, Cameron, Nick Jr. and Xander Carelli, Carter Smith and Abigail Carelli and Sophia Suchy; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and extended family members.

In addition to both of her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her brother Harry Hing.

Funeral services will be private to the family, at a time of their convenience at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.

Interment will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
