Obituary of Teresa Straus

Mrs. Teresa Straus, 69, of Amsterdam passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Gateway House of Hope in Ballston Spa.

She was born Teresa Kozuszko on January 20, 1952 to Bernard and Anna Kozuszko of Long Island. She attended Locust Valley schools in Long Island. Teresa was united in marriage to Mr. Frederick "Skip" Straus Jr. on February 14, 1983. They remained lovingly married until his passing on February 22, 2002. Teresa and her family relocated to Amsterdam from Huntington, Long Island in 1995.

She is survived by her sons; Tommy (Kimmie) Waicul of Clifton Park and Paul (Tierra) Straus of Amsterdam, as well as her daughters; Lynn (William) Waicul of Amsterdam, Stacey (Enrique) DeJesus of Rotterdam, and Amanda (Tito) Straus of Rotterdam also surviving are her grandchildren Michelle, Matthew, Roman, Gabriel, London, Julien, and Kehlani.

Family and friends are invited and may visit on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. The number of visitors will be monitored, masks are required, and seating is limited to immediate family members. Social distancing practices are required as visitors are cycled through. Your patience is appreciated. Please remember the sick, elderly and those with compromised health should avoid public settings. A private service will take place immediately following the calling hours.
