Obituary of Deborah Sherman
Ms. Deborah S. Sherman, 70, of Gloversville, NY died peacefully on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 21, 1950 she was the daughter of the late Adolphus and Almeda Carter Thompson.
A lifelong area resident, Deborah graduated from Gloversville High School and went on to attend business college. She was employed by the Greater Johnstown School District until her retirement.
Deborah was a member of the Gloversville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She volunteered her time to help people in the community to live a better life and find comfort through bible knowledge.
She is survived by her two children, Galen D. Sherman of Athens, GA and Andrea N. Sherman of Gloversville, NY; her five siblings, Patricia Aguila and her husband Damian, Sheryl Williams, Rosa Howard and her husband David, Cameron Thompson and Claudette Thompson Hennessey; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held by the Gloversville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 2 p.m. In order to keep everyone safe, the service will be held virtually through audio/video link.
