Obituary of Sandra A. Watson

Ms. Sandra A. Watson, 76, of Fonda, New York, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2021 at her home after a long battle with COPD. Sandra was born in Utica, New York on January 16, 1945. She graduated from High School in Catskill, New York, where she met her former husband Robert Start Sr. They had a 14 year marriage and had 3 children together.

Sandra, a very devoted mother, worked as a waitress for over 40 years for Pizza Hut and Mike’s Famous Hot Dogs on Erie Boulevard in Schenectady, where she retired in 2009. Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, watching movies, shopping with her family, enjoying her pets, and playing games, especially card games and Yahtzee.

She is survived by her children, Robert Start Jr., Renee South (Don South), and Michelle Start (Frank Malatesta); her brother, Richard Stacy of Waterville NY; nieces and nephew, Katrina Carney, Alicia Stacy-Puccio, and Richard Stacy Jr., as well as her beloved Poodle: Precious. Sandra is preceded in death by her mother, Blanche Minor.
