Obituary of Santa C. Browne

Santa C. Browne, age 89, of Gloversville, died Friday, March 5, 2021 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.

 

She was born September 2, 1931 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Santo and Concetta Chiarello. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and sang in the former St. Mary's Church Choir. Santa was an artist and exhibited some of her oil paintings at local art shows including the former annual show at the First Congregational Church. She also taught calligraphy at the senior center. She loved animals and cared for many neighborhood strays.

 

Santa is survived by a daughter, Lynn E. Browne of Greenfield Center; as well as cousins.

 

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by aunts and uncles.

 

For the safety of family and friends, a private burial will take place in the Spring at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown, under the direction of Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
