Obituary of Eileen M. Thompson
Mrs. Eileen M. Thompson, age 94, of Gloversville, passed away on Friday March 5, 2021 at the Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville.
She was born April 27, 1926 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late James and Gladys Wilder Quinn. Eileen worked for the Gloversville Enlarged School District for over 25 years. She enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crocheting and time spent at camp on Caroga Lake. She also collected elephant figurines.
Eileen loved her family and was always excited to see them. She was blessed to have been able to hold her newest great-granddaughter. She will be missed by many.
Eileen is survived by her son Harold (Sandi) Thompson Jr.; three grandchildren, Kate (Jarret) Emert, Dan (Brie) Thompson and Anne (Herb) Agnew; five great grandchildren; a sister in-law Ruth Quinn; a brother in-law Donald Thompson and his companion Shirley Nellis, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
In addition to both of her parents, Eileen was predeceased by her husband Harold Thompson, Sr.; a daughter Mary Ann; her brother James Quinn; a brother in-law Clarence (Grace) Thompson and two sister in-laws, Isabel Walter and Muriel Thompson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, May 28, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to a charity of your choice in her name.
