Obituary of Nancy H. Muskin
Nancy Muskin, daughter of Lorine and Stanton Hertz, resident of Mayfield, NY passed away at her Scottsdale, AZ home on Wednesday morning, March 10, 2021 at the age of 97.
Nancy lived in Pittsburgh, PA; graduated in 1942 with an AA from Stephens College in Columbia, MO in in 1942 and a BS from Carnegie Tech in 1944. She was married to Nathan J. Muskin, a Gloversville native for 55 years until his death from prostate cancer. They met in Pittsburgh where Nate had an engineering degree from Carnegie Tech. They moved from Pittsburgh to Houston to Dallas to Scarsdale, NY following Nate’s career as a metal broker which took him to many foreign countries, often accompanied by Nancy. She was an active volunteer in her 45 years in Scarsdale: Girl Scouting, PTA leadership and Sisterhood of Kol Ami of White Plains.
Nancy is survived by daughters Lynn Lettre (Michel) and Janet Rutchik (Stuart). Grandchildren are Rachel Lettre (Paul Mackie), Madeline Comoglio (Jason), Robin Rutchik and Rebecca Fransen (Jonathan). Great-grandchildren are Julia Comoglio, Grant Comoglio, Jackson Mackie and Zoey Mackie. Nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her sister, Lois Lesser.
Nancy’s daughter Alice was killed by a drunken driver in Boston at age 23, after graduating magna cum laude from Tufts. There is a yearly award to the outstanding candystriper at Nathan Littauer Hospital in memory of Alice and her love of being a candy striper. The Serenity Room at the Mountain Valley Hospice House was endowed in memory of Nate Muskin.

Burial will be private at Knesseth Israel Cemetery, Gloversville.
