Obituary of Janice Leona Slovack
Mrs. Janice Leona Slovack, 86, of Gloversville, passed away on March 6, 2021. She was born on June 2, 1934, in Gloversville, daughter of the late Stephen King and Ella May Henry King. She graduated from Gloversville High School, class of 1955, and was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit. She was a lifetime Gloversville resident. She was a true lover of pets and wildlife, and she enjoyed reading.
Upon her graduation, she worked for two years as a dental assistant to former dentist Benjamin Basuk. She was married to John J. Slovack, Jr. on September 11, 1954 in the former St. Mary’s Church in Gloversville. John passed away on June 5, 2014. She is survived by her two sons, John S. Slovack (Penny), and Joseph M. Slovack, both of Gloversville. She has one grandson, JohnPaul Slovack of Albany, one sister Carol Blubaugh of New Jersey, several cousins, nephews, and one niece.
In accordance with Janice’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Private urn burial will take place at the convenience of her family in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
