Obituary of Alvin C. Waffle
Alvin C. Waffle, age 79 of Gloversville passed away peacefully at home after battling cancer on March 8, 2021 with family by his side. He was born September 4, 1941, son of the late Alvin M. Waffle and Helen (Gage).
He was predeceased by his sister Carolyn Nagy of Alaska and his beloved dog Tasha. He was a lifelong resident of Gloversville. In his younger years he worked in a leather mill then in 1966 was the manager for 3 mobile stations on the New York State Thruway for 10 years. Afterwards in 1976, he was employed by Gloversville Water Works for 26 years, retiring as foreman. He loved to bowl, hunt, fish, watch NASCAR and football, as well as going to the casino with his wife. Lastly, he adored his three grand puppies when they came to visit him (Copper, Ruger, and Winston).
Alvin is survived by his wife Nancy (Yost) of 57 years; twins Eric (Karla) Waffle, Christine (Joel) Bornt of Gloversville; 3 grandchildren Hannah Waffle of Gaffney, South Carolina; Andrew (Taylor Miskinis) Bornt and Adam Bornt of Gloversville. He has 3 surviving sisters: Barbara (Dennis) Nagy of Monroe, Washington, Nancy Demarest and Pamela Gattie both of Gloversville.
For the safety of family and friends, private visitation and service will take place privately at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.
Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville
