Obituary of Edith Douglass

Mrs. Edith M. "Edie" Douglass, age 69, formerly of Amsterdam, died on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

She was born September 3, 1951 in Amsterdam, New York, the daughter of the late Richard and Una Hoffman Roberts. She was a graduate of the Fonda- Fultonville High School Class of 1970. Edie was employed as a Financial Counselor by St. Mary's Healthcare of Amsterdam for over 40 years until retiring in 2016. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, being outdoors and spending time with her family.

On May 8, 1971 she was married to James M. Douglass who passed away in December 27, 1981.

Edie is survived by her son, Eric J. (Bonni) Douglass of Fayetteville, Arkansas, two daughters; Lisa L. (Matthew) DeRonda of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Cybil M. Slater of Fultonville. She also leaves behind her brother, John C. Roberts of Fort Johnson, and sister Deborah Williams of Fonda as well as six grandchildren; Anthony Green, Angelina DeRonda, Michael DeRonda, Madilyn Douglass, Michael Douglass and Caitlyn Hentnik also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, 12010. Interment will take place in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery.
