Obituary of Harold James McGuire

Harold James McGuire, age 82, died Friday, February 26, 2021 at his home in Gloversville.

He was born October 9, 1938 in the Town of Broadalbin, the son of the late Howard and Dorothy Walker McGuire. He was employed as a custodian by the Gloversville Enlarged School District for many years until his retirement. He then worked at Somerset Industries. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed animals, fishing and the country setting.

Harold is survived by his wife; Veda Forgette McGuire;  three children, Howard A. McGuire (Lori), Caroline Ackerknecht (Jason) and Timothy McGuire; two grandchildren, Christopher McGuire (Kayla) and Shauna McGuire; three great-grandchildren, Joseph Banovic, Emali Banovic and Molly McGuire; three siblings, Frank McGuire, Grace Morrison and Betty St. Louis; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Haylei Banovic; a brother, Howard McGuire and a sister, June Harrington.

For the safety of family and friends, private burial will take place in the Spring at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, under the direction of Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
