Obituary of Kathleen Bottisti

       Kathleen Bottisti, 92, of Amsterdam, entered into eternal life on Saturday , February 6, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Kathleen was born March 21, 1928, the daughter of the late Damiano and Frances Minisci in Schuylerville NY. She relocated to Amsterdam as a child with her parents, sister and brother. She attended local schools and graduated from Wilbur H Lynch High School in the class of 1946.

      Kathleen worked locally for many years. She was employed as an office worker at Mohawk Mills Carpets, radio station WCSS and at the Family Court in Fonda NY.

      Kathleen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She especially loved spending time with her family and taking trips to Maine and Cape Cod with them.

      Kathleen was united in marriage with Dominick J Bottisti on August 17, 1947 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. They were married for 70 years. Dominick predeceased her on March 1, 2018.

      She is survived by two loving sons, Thomas (Ginny) Bottisti of Amsterdam and John (Mary Elizabeth) Bottisti of Amsterdam. She had five cherished grandchildren, Kimberly (Mike) Rodecker, Kristy (Dwayne) Bottisti, Katie (Tyrone) Bottisti, Maria (Andrew) Pruckno and Ann (Kevin) Wilary; and eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jillian, Nick, Tyler, Joclyn, Jayla, Amaya and Natalie. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

      Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Frank and Rachel Minisci, Carmela and James Hannan and her in-laws, Nicholas and Pam Bottisti, Albert and Elvira Bottisti, Herman and Isabel Bottisti and Eleanor and Joseph Pallotta. She was also predeceased by her great-grandson Teagan.

      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 6, 2021 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 St. John St. Amsterdam with Father O. Robert DeMartinis presiding.  Private entombment will be in  the Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.  The family requests all attending the Funeral Mass to please wear a mask and follow social distancing guidlines set forth by the CDC.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 139 Lake Avenue, Albany NY 12208 or Community Hospice, 179 Lawrence St. , Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
