Obituary of Joanne Marie Buelow
Joanne Marie Bellomo Buelow, 61, passed away in Gloversville, NY on January 17, 2021. Formally of 10 Prather Ave, Jamestown, NY. She was born May 4, 1959 in Jamestown, NY. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Angeline Vitanza Bellomo.
Joanne worked as a dietician at Fenton Park Nursing Home in Jamestown for many years before working at the Walmart stores in Amsterdam and Lakewood, NY. She occupied many positions throughout her years of service at Walmart and was successful in her roles of Customer Service Manager, Layaway Dept. Manager, Community Involvement Specialist, and Training Coordinator in Lakewood.
Most of all, she was passionate about her family. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She had a very special bond and close relationship with her daughter, Jackie, who loved her tremendously. She was proud of her relationship with her son, Mark. Joanne also treasured and treated her niece and nephew as if they were her children. She loved to be in the kitchen, cooking and baking, and greatly enjoyed watching Hallmark Movies. She was happiest when her family was together eating and laughing, especially around the holidays. She was the true heart of Christmas and always had an extra plate, chair, and plenty of food for anybody who needed it! She was the type of person that was always willing to help others, no questions asked. Joanne will be missed by all that have loved her, but we find reassurance knowing she is watching over us as she always did.
Coincidentally, Joanne passed away on her late father's birthday. We find comfort in knowing he was there to greet her, and she is now at peace.
Surviving are her two children: daughter, Jaclyn Buelow (Stephen) Van Rensselaer, of Gloversville, NY and a son, Mark Buelow of Broadalbin, NY; Grandchildren: Christopher Buelow and Rashmika Van Rensselaer. A brother, Jack (Jennie) Bellomo of Summerville, SC. A niece, Janelle Bellomo of Summerville, SC. A nephew, Jonathan (Kristen) Bellomo of Kenmore, NY, and three great nieces and nephews Jocelyn, Camden, and Roman Bellomo. As well as several cousins and close friends.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by a nephew Steven Durand who passed away Oct 2, 2019.
Joanne asked that her body be donated to the University of Buffalo in hopes to further medical education and research and to help others in need.
Due to restrictions on public gatherings caused by the coronavirus outbreak, no service or visitation will be observed at this time. Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home in Gloversville, NY provided transportation. Cremation Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Jamestown, NY at a later time.
