Obituary of Lorraine Cosentino
Lorraine Cosentino, 85, of Amsterdam, passed away on Tuesday morning February 2, 2021 at the River Ridge Living Center LLC in Amsterdam.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on May 15, 1935, a daughter of the late Alexander and Adeline Jedrzejewski Barszcz. She was a lifelong area resident and was a 1952 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam.
Lorraine worked her entire career as a Secretary, first for the for GE in Schenectady, then Gateway Cablevision in Amsterdam , and last for Tecler Elementary School in Amsterdam.
Lori was a devout catholic and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She enjoyed reading and was fond of animals. She enjoyed playing Bocce on Amsterdam’s south side where she made many friends and acquaintances. Lorraine will be truly missed by all who knew her.
She married Frank H. Cosentino on May 4, 1958. He passed away on March 18, 2000.
Lorraine is survived by her loving daughters, Cynthia Lawrence of Voorheesville, NY and Christine Pastino of Delmar,NY. Six cherished grandchildren, Michael Campione, Cristian Lawrence, Ethan Lawrence, Calabria Lawrence, Evan and Grace Pastino. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by a sister, Regina Trzaskos in 2005.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday February 8, 2021 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 St. John St., Amsterdam with Father O. Robert DeMartinis presiding. If attending Mass please follow NYS guidelines for Covid 19, please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Interment will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Amsterdam. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 St. John St., Amsterdam, NY 12010.
