Obituary of Bradley Eugene Baldwin

Mr. Bradley Eugene “Babe” Baldwin, age 81, of Gloversville, passed away on Tuesday January 26, 2021 at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown with his loving family at his side.

He was born March 11, 1939 in Cranberry Creek, the son of the late Robert and Dorothy Baldwin. Babe attended Ithaca College before he was scouted for baseball and signed by the New York Yankees, the team he loved. After his baseball career came to an early end due to injury, he became a salesman at the for Betor Furniture Store in Broadalbin.

In recognition of his exceptional talent in sports being coined “one of our area's greatest all-around athletes ever” at multiple levels in sports, Babe was inducted into the New York State and Fulton County Hall of fame and an All American in 1956-1957 for both Baseball and Basketball. Babe was a family man, enjoying attending his children and grandchildren’ sporting event regularly. He enjoyed to going on rides and spending time with his loved ones.

Bradley is survived by his wife Sandra; his son Bradley Baldwin II (Stephanie); his daughter Lisa Passalacqua (Joseph); his siblings, MaryJane Gardner, Warren "Bucky" Baldwin (Mavis) and Gregory Baldwin (Mary); grandchildren, Matthew, Emily and Mallory Baldwin, Abigail Seltzer, Cody, Connor, Mckenna and Courtney Passalacqua; along with several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to both his parents, Babe was predeceased by a brother in-law Bruce Gardner.

In accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, there will be no formal calling hours or funeral services at this time. A celebration of life will be announced in the spring.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Northeastern New York 4 Pine West Plaza #405, Albany, NY 12205 or a charity of your choice in his name.
