Obituary of Alice R. Kulig
Alice Soodsma Kulig, 92, of Canajoharie, NY died Friday, January 22, 2021. Born in Midland Park, NJ on December 4, 1928, she was the daughter of Garrett and Cornelia Soodsma.
On September 27, 1947 Alice married Karol Kulig. Together they relocated to Canajoharie where they bought a farm they named Applewood. They lived there for over 50 years, making many happy memories. Alice and Karol remained lovingly married until his death on January 13, 2010.
Alice worked for many years at Beechnut and Lifesavers Companies in Canajoharie before returning to school to receive a Bachelor's degree in American Studies from St. Rose College. She was a member of the Currytown Reformed Church where she was the organist. She loved reading, gardening, cooking, entertaining, and playing the piano.
She is survived by her three children, K. Randolph Kulig and his wife Pam, Kathy VanLoan and her husband Dana, and Jenifer Bell and her husband Craig; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband Karol, she is predeceased by her brothers Henry and Gary Soodsma.
Alice's family would like to thank Rob Lachut and the entire staff at Palatine Nursing Home for the compassion and care shown to her in the last several years.
